Storyline

Based on Patrick DeWitt's novel, The Sisters Brothers revolves around the colourfully named gold prospector Hermann Kermit Warm, who's being pursued across 1000 miles of 1850s Oregon desert to San Francisco by the notorious assassins Eli and Charlie Sisters. Except Eli is having a personal crisis and beginning to doubt the longevity of his chosen career. And Hermann might have a better offer.

Jacques Audiard himself told that this film was an order film. Producer John C eilly came to him to ask him to do it. Audiard was not the creator. But after watching it, I must admit that you find here much of his personal touch. For instance, ths feature reminds me his very first film: REGARDE LES HOMMES TOMBER, made in 1995. It was not a western but a crime drama involving ONLY MEN, as here, men from different sides, who finally found a kind of meaning at their lives. A complex story too, very hard to analyze, very interesting but not for all audiences, except the "elite" ones. Very unusual. In this movie, supporting characters are maybe more worth than the two leads. Jake Gyllenhal and the Arab actor are greater - for my own taste - than Reilly and Phoenix. I did not appreciate it but that remains a good western, very unusual, I repeat.

The plot can be quickly summarized ... the main characters of Christian Grey and Anastacia Steel got married before this movie. They seems to be in a happy relationship but an old problem in form of former manager of Anastacia Steel is threatening their happy new life.

That's it. More plot this movie doesnt provide. How it comes that this movie takes so long with such a bad plot? The gaps are filled with bad sex scenes, bad jokes every than and now and a relationship based on abuse.

As a openly living BDSM follower this movie and the books hurting every inch of me. And not in the good way. If you really want to watch this movie, I recommend to do this with big attentation on details and you will quickly notice, that the 'relationship' between Anastacia and Christian are based on nothing more than abuse.
